Gomer Williams specialises in creating Lasting Powers of Attorney (an LPA) – a legal tool that gives another adult the legal power to make decisions for another individual should they loose the ability to make decisions for themselves. This is known as lacking ‘mental capacity’.
The person who would make these decisions after the creation of an LPA is an ‘attorney’. They can manage the finances and make decisions on health and welfare of the individual who has appointed them the LPA rights while in full mental health.
The decision to make an LPA is a common one but should not be undertaken without specialist legal advice to ensure the long-term wellbeing of vulnerable individuals and to ensure that the application is made correctly and legitimately to the Office of the Public Guardian.
Court of Protection Applications
If mental capacity is lost, our Court of Protection specialists can help nominated individuals to be appointed as a Court of Protection Deputy or Trustee for the vulnerable individual.
